The UP Fighting Maroons may have won twice off-season but their loss in the recent Ilo-ilo Invitational Tournament held at Pototan Coliseum, Ilo-ilo served as a rude awakening. For them, they are ever hungrier this time to take the next tournament title to ultimately regain their confidence for the upcoming UAAP Season 80 wars this September.

In their bid to start things off with dominance, Paul Desiderio and the rest of the Maroon crew will be battling it out with Mapua Cardinals on May 19. They will be facing off EAC Generals and much-improved Benilde Blazers on May 21 and May 24.

Their first real battle against a UAAP team will be on May 28 against Adamson Soaring Falcons, which will be followed by a re-match of their Ilo-ilo duel against FEU Tamaraws on May 31.

Aside from Desiderio, the Maroon crowd has something to watch out for as Juan Gomez de Liano will have his Filoil debut with the UP Fighting Maroons this season. It will definitely be put on full display as they square off against stingy San Sebastian College Stags and Arellano Chiefs on June 7 and 12 before facing another tough UAAP team, NU Bulldogs for their final eliminations match on June 14.

Once they enter the Top 4 of their bracket, a single elimination playoffs will commence. UP is eyeing to make it at playoffs at least for this season.
